March 13, 2009 - Marvel Characters To Be Used By Playtech

An exclusive multi-year deal has been signed by online gaming software developer, Playtech, which are based in Isle of Man, with Marvel Characters BV, a subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment.

Playtech has signed a licensing agreement with Marvel Entertainment Incorporated that will result in Playtech being permitted to use iconic Brands such as Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Blade and X-Men and many others in its portfolio of branded casino games. These popular brands will be used by them in all of its gaming products such as casino, bingo and poker as well as also on its server-based gaming terminals via its Videobet subsidiary.

Chief Executive Officer of Playtech, Mor Weizer, has stated that "This agreement is a major stepping stone for Playtech, as it will greatly extend the commercial appeal and cross-selling opportunities of our products".

"Branded slots are a good way of diversifying our product and attracting new players".

"Our customers can now enjoy games with Playtech's market-leading software featuring up-to-date Marvel film characters, which have a truly mass-market appeal. The proven strength of these brands will allow our licensees to gain market share using the strength of our product."

He added that the company was looking forward to working with such a famous brand and a highly respected company and were excited about providing high quality games to their players.

The fact that Playtech is also authorized to utilise these bionic characters through all of its platforms which include online, mobile and television will further attract customers.
