Febuary 15, 2009 - Microgaming Poker Network Acquires Ladbrokes Poker
Microgaming Poker Network recently lost DoylesRoom.com, they have just gained leading online poker site Ladbrokes Poker. Microgaming Poker Network consists of 40 of the top gambling domains and includes thousands of diverse players. Much concern is not on whether or not this merger will affect the business, but whether it will effect the player.
Many have questions about whether or not this will change the face of Ladbrokes Poker, as many people are not ready to give up what they have grown accustomed to. According to Edward Ihre, Managing Director for Ladbrokes Poker, the players will not notice much difference to the services they are used to. "They will remain Ladbrokes customers and can still use all the ladbrokes features including three-dimensional poker."
“The benefits will be that we can offer a greater range of game types and levels as well as the availability of games in Euros for the first time.”
The two companies have a good history behind them. Microgaming has supplied poker software to Ladbrokes Poker for several years now and is single handedly responsible for powering their online casino with Microgaming's powerful award-winning software. Together they share the same goal of delivering the most engaging interactive gaming experience to their existing players as well as the new players that have yet to join. Microgaming has also revealed that there will be an improvement in multi-table tournaments as well as a first rate qualification schedule for offline Ladbrokes Poker events.
The acquisition has everyone at Microgaming very excited. "Access to the network will allow new and existing ladbrokes players access to a far wider range of compelling table action and fun filled gameplay", says Roger Ratgeever, CEO for Microgaming. “We are delighted to welcome Ladbrokes to the Microgaming Poker Network."
