Microgaming to Release Lord of the Rings Slots

Microgaming, the world’s largest provider of online gaming software has signed a multi-year licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Digital Distribution in terms of which Microgaming has been granted permission to create top of the range video slots of high quality using characters, themes and animation based on the popular The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy.

Microgaming will be using characters, animation material and themes from the motion picture The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King to provide internet gaming to all countries where online gaming is allowed.

The timely decision by Microgaming to secure exclusive, online vide slot game rights to this trilogy confirms it’s commitment to license the right brands at the right time. $3 billion was generated by this trilogy in box offices around the world and it was nominated for 30 Academy Awards. They succeeded in winning 17 awards, including Best Picture Award.

The CEO of Microgaming, Roger Raatgever, reported that they are thrilled to be creating state-of-the art video slots from the most outstanding movie trilogy of the decade and they are looking forward to bringing the Lord of the Rings into the online gaming domain where their experience in game quality and speed to market is sure to be successful. The Lord of the Rings has a well established fan base with over 97% awareness of the film franchise. The trilogy has also been very popular as a home video.

Microgaming recently launched a branded video slot, Hellboy which will, no doubt, also be very popular amongst players.
