An exciting new free-to-play online poker room has been launched by the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) terrestrial television network in America through its NBCSports.com portal which offers competitors the opportunity of winning cash as well as prizes.

This new service, which was introduced using software from poker turnkey provider Zen Gaming, will give players an opportunity to win NBC Sports gear as well as the top prize which is a seat and the twenty thousand dollar buy-in to the 2010 National Heads-Up Poker Championships.

Poker has grown tremendously in NBC Sport’s broadcast schedule over the past few years and they have always tried to offer a complimentary online element to their audience, according to Jon Miller from NBC Sports.

Miller also feels that they have brought a commitment to their online audience by giving them a chance to partake in free poker while connecting with their on-air programming and interactively connect with their advertisers and sponsors.

Single and multi-table Texas hold’em tournaments will commence every thirty minutes on the new National Broadcasting Corporation poker service and ever week the ten best players will qualify for an online final. This final will take place in February and players will have the opportunity to win the magnificent prize of a seat at the 2010 National Heads-Up Poker Championship at Caesar’s Palace Hotel And Casino which will be held in March.
